their registration open, however, and will accept late registration through the
end of the day on Monday, Oct 24th. Please help them by sending entries as
early as possible, preferably by the Oct 24th date if at all possible.

possible. If you are a new coach and are in need of the manual, please
contact us.

Melba LaCaze has
announced the following (Posted October 19, 2010)
IMPORTANT: RULE CLARIFICATION FOR TOURNAMENT HOST
SCHOOLS!!!
As per the Spring meeting, 2010, students from the
host school may participate in their own tournament in DEBATE EVENTS ONLY.
The intent of the rule does not apply to IE's, DUO, or DUET. Additionally, be
reminded that students MAY NOT tabulate results in those events.
The rule mandates that a coach tabulate the event. Additionally,
careful consideration is to be given to the judge assignment of rounds involving
host school’s students – community judges who know the students should not be
assigned.
Melba LaCaze has
announced the following (Posted September 22, 2010)
The tournament season is under way. Here are
a few reminders for all tournament directors:
Please send your invitations to Melba to post on the website.
Since most of our coaches use MSWord, it is easier for them to download your
invitation if you send it in a Word format. However, if you are using a .docx
version of Word, many will not be able to open the file. We are here to
help and will do whatever is needed to help.
Tournament reports are due within two
weeks of the last day of your tournament. If we do not receive
your results your team will be penalized according to the rules of LHSSL.
Directors should use the tournament reporting form that is available or the OTRS
online reporting form. ALL the information listed in the report is needed
in order to facilitate ToC. If you choose not to use the form and
information is omitted, then your report will be considered as "unsubmitted" and
your results will not be recorded. Please include FIRST and LAST names of
all competitors as there are many "Boudreauxs" in Louisiana! We had a
super ToC last year because 99% reported responsibly. This year we'd like
to be 100%.
Melba LaCaze has
announced the following (Posted August 28 , 2009)
Important Reminder: Tournament directors have
two weeks from
the end of a tournament to submit a tournament report to LHSSL. You may
use the OTRS online, mail results, or e-mail attached results. Failure to
report results interferes with TOC qualifying therefore all results must be
submitted on time. Failure to report will result in the host school
neither being allowed to participate in TOC this year nor to host a sanctioned
tournament the next year. ALL results should include the number of
teams/individuals competing in an event, out-of-state schools should be clearly
indicated, and first and last names of winners are required. We cannot
accept results that are last names only. If there is a problem with reporting, you should call
Melba or Lisa asap.
Melba LaCaze has announced the following
(Posted August 12, 2009)
Reminder: If you are hosting a tournament and would like your
invitation to appear on the web, please e-mail it as a Word doc to Melba or to
the website. Please make every effort to send invitations as one document, rather than as
2, 3, or 4 documents. It makes our job much easier at this end and you are
less likely to encounter mistakes in the posting of your invitation.
